<p>A <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/california" target="_blank" rel="noopener">California</a> district superintendent recently announced that a high school football team was no longer allowed to display the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/thin-blue-line" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Thin Blue Line</a> at its games, but that didn’t stop Saugus High School players.</p>
<p>When most of the team ran onto the field Friday night, the tradition of the Thin Blue Line Flag was absent. Two players then came onto the field carrying an American flag and a Thin Blue Line flag, even after Superintendent Mike Kuhlman announced they weren&#8217;t allowed to show the flag supporting <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/police" target="_blank" rel="noopener">law enforcement</a>, <a href="https://signalscv.com/2022/10/thin-blue-line-flag-back-on-saugus-sideline/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to the Santa Clarita Valley Signal.</p>

<p>According to the local news report, Kuhlman announced the decision to ban the team from displaying the flag without the Hart District School Board hearing the issue. The district reportedly received complaints about Saugus High School players carrying the flag onto the field before games because people found it divisive.</p>
<p>According to Kuhlman&#8217;s letter explaining the decision, the head football coach was the one who made the decision to stop the tradition of carrying the Thin Blue Line flag onto the field.</p>
<p>&#8220;Given that some individuals have expressed concern that they interpret the Thin Blue Line flag to be divisive, it occurred to (the coach) that it’s possible that some players on the team might not be entirely enthusiastic about a symbol that is being used to represent the entire team,&#8221; Kuhlman wrote, Fox News <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/sports/california-high-school-football-players-fly-thin-blue-line-flag-despite-ban" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.</p>
<p>&#8220;In deference to his commitment to inclusivity, kindness and respect (just loving people), and because the team never voted as a unit to carry this banner, Coach decided to discontinue this practice,” Kuhlman added.</p>
<p>Saugus defeated Golden Valley 31-13 Friday, giving them eight wins to their two losses on the season.</p>

School Superintendent Said Thin Blue Line Flag Was No Longer Allowed On Sideline. High School Football Players Displayed It Anyway.

<p>Four suspected illegal immigrants, referred to as &#8220;public safety threats,&#8221; escaped from federal authorities at a building used by Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Newark, New Jersey, as chaotic scenes erupted outside the facility on Thursday.</p>
<p>The escapees, identified as two Honduran and two Colombian nationals by the Department of Homeland Security, broke through a wall and escaped from the Delaney Hall detention center, the Associated Press <a href="https://apnews.com/article/immigration-detention-center-newark-new-jersey-delaney-hall-cf1e9043626136c46b5b67aeda2e9183">reported</a>. Detainees being held inside Delaney Hall reportedly became enraged over delayed meals, and protesters showed up at the detention center, pushing against the gates and attempting to block vehicles from passing through.</p>
<p>Delaney Hall is the same facility where Newark Democratic Mayor <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/newark-mayor-arrested-after-dem-reps-storm-new-jersey-ice-facility-charge-past-security-officers">Ras Baraka</a>, along with Rep. <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/democrat-indicted-over-ice-facility-clash-faces-up-to-17-years-in-prison">LaMonica McIver</a> (D-NJ), were arrested during altercations with law enforcement after they attempted to storm into the building last month.</p>
<p>An attorney representing one of the suspected illegal immigrants being detained at Delaney Hall told the AP that the situation became violent on Thursday after meals for the detainees arrived hours later than normal.</p>
<p>“Apparently the guards lost control of them,” the attorney, Mustafa Cetin, said. “And they started to, you know, create a disturbance.”</p>
<p>On Friday, the DHS <a href="https://www.dhs.gov/news/2025/06/13/law-enforcement-offers-10000-reward-information-leading-arrest-4-dangerous-criminal">said</a> it is offering $10,000 for information leading to the apprehension of the escapees, identified as Franklin Norberto Bautista-Reyes and Joel Enrique Sandoval-Lopez — both Honduran men — and Colombian men Joan Sebastian Castaneda-Lozada and Andres Pineda-Mogollon. Homeland Security added that it has brought in &#8220;additional law enforcement partners&#8221; as they continue to search for the escapees.</p>
<p>DHS pushed back against reports claiming that an &#8220;uprising&#8221; was taking place at the detention facility.</p>
<p>&#8220;On June 12, four criminal illegal aliens breached security at Delaney Hall. Contrary to current reporting, there has been no widespread unrest at the Delaney Hall Detention facility,&#8221; Homeland Security <a href="https://www.dhs.gov/news/2025/06/13/law-enforcement-offers-10000-reward-information-leading-arrest-4-dangerous-criminal">said</a> in a statement. &#8220;This privately held facility remains dedicated to providing high-quality services, including include around-the-clock access to medical care, in-person and virtual legal and family visitation, general and legal library access, translation services, dietician-approved meals, religious and specialty diets, recreational amenities, and opportunities to practice their religious beliefs.&#8221;</p>

<p>Bautista-Reyes was arrested by the Wayne Township, New Jersey, Police Department in May on charges of aggravated assault, attempt to cause bodily injury, terroristic threats, and possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes. He crossed the border illegally in 2021, according to the DHS. Sandoval-Lopez, who entered the United States illegally in 2019, was arrested by the New Jersey Passaic Police Department last October for unlawful possession of a handgun. He was arrested again in February for aggravated assault.</p>
<p>Castaneda-Lozada, who has been living in the country illegally since 2022, was arrested in May by the New Jersey Hammonton Police Department for burglary, theft, and conspiracy to commit burglary. Pineda-Mogollon, who the DHS says overstayed a tourist visa after entering the country in 2023, was nabbed by the New York City Police Department in April for petit larceny. He was arrested again in May by the Union, New Jersey, Police Department for residential burglary, conspiracy to commit residential burglary, and possession of burglary tools.</p>

<p>Delaney Hall, which is operated by the GEO Group, a private company, has been the center of protests since last month, as Democrats and activists <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/four-detainees-newark-ice-facility-are-missing-senior-officials-say-rcna212893">claim</a> that detainees at the 1,000-bed facility are subject to poor treatment. Democrats, such as Mayor Baraka, have attempted to gain entry to the facility, arguing that it “lacks sufficient oversight of every basic detail — including local zoning laws and fundamental constitutional rights.&#8221;</p>

Multiple Illegal Immigrants Escape Custody As Protesters Surround ICE Detention Facility

<p>Anti-ICE protesters got in the way of a drug bust targeting a former cartel member in Tucson, Arizona, on Wednesday night, according to Pinal County Sheriff Ross Teeple.</p>
<p>Teeple told local outlet <a href="https://www.kold.com/2025/06/12/protesters-disrupt-major-drug-bust-tucson-mistaking-it-immigration-action/">13 News</a> on Thursday that a group of protesters stood between federal and local law enforcement officers and a home where over 120 pounds of fentanyl, 20 pounds of meth, and 30 pounds of cocaine were seized. The suspect, an illegal immigrant and former cartel member, according to authorities, was also taken into custody. Teeple said that the protesters disrupted the joint federal and local law enforcement operation, which was carried out with a search warrant.</p>
<p>&#8220;These individuals, the &#8216;protesters,&#8217; actually blocked a Pinal County Sheriff&#8217;s Office tow truck from removing the suspect&#8217;s vehicle from a criminal investigation,&#8221; Teeple said.</p>
<p>“These idiots came out and protested us getting 5 million fentanyl pills off the streets, 32 pounds of cocaine off the streets, 22 pounds of methamphetamines off the streets,&#8221; he added. &#8220;They don’t have individual thought, they have group think.”</p>
<p>Some of the protesters who showed up in the usually quiet Tucson neighborhood on Wednesday were previously at a demonstration at an ICE facility that devolved into violence, according to authorities, 13 News reported.</p>

<p>“Even when it was explained to them that this was a criminal case, where we were taking a criminal drug smuggler, a known felon off the street and keeping the community safe, they still sat there and protested because they don’t have an independent thought,” the sheriff said.</p>
<p>According to Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the Tucson Police Department was called to assist with crowd control so authorities could carry out the warrant for the drug bust. Tucson Police Chief Chad Kasmar said officers tried to explain the situation to the group of demonstrators.</p>
<p>“We took the time to tell them and reiterate, this is not an immigration warrant. It was narcotics-related,” Kasmar said.</p>
<p>Anti-ICE demonstrators have impeded federal immigration officers during raids in other parts of the country. Earlier this week, protesters <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2025/06/11/us/video/ice-raid-omaha-block-immigration-digvid#:~:text=Workers%20at%20a%20meatpacking%20plant,of%20the%20Trump's%20second%20term.">threw themselves</a> on top of ICE vehicles during a raid at a meatpacking plant in Omaha, Nebraska. In L.A., protesters tried to <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mCZfaX6j6Zc">stop</a> ICE SUVs from leaving a place where agents had conducted a raid.</p>
<p>Protests and riots have hit cities across the country after anti-ICE agitators attacked federal, state, and local authorities in Los Angeles last weekend. The riots led to President Donald Trump calling in the National Guard and Marines to L.A., which enraged Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom and L.A. Mayor Karen Bass. Republican governors in <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/greg-abbott-to-deploy-national-guard-amid-texas-anti-ice-protests">Texas</a> and <a href="https://www.ky3.com/2025/06/12/gov-kehoe-says-missouri-national-guard-remains-standby-ice-protests/">Missouri</a> also mobilized the National Guard in their states ahead of planned anti-ICE demonstrations this weekend.</p>

Democrat Lawmakers, Leftists Seethe As Israel Wipes Out Iranian Nuclear Facility, Military Leaders

<p>President Donald Trump signaled on Thursday that &#8220;changes are coming&#8221; to his immigration policy, noting that farmers as well as hotel and leisure businesses have complained about his &#8220;very aggressive&#8221; crackdown on illegal immigrants.</p>
<p>In a <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/114670684664650262">post</a> on Truth Social, the president said that he&#8217;s heard from farmers and people in the hotel industry who are concerned about the administration&#8217;s immigration crackdown &#8220;taking very good, long time workers away from them, with those jobs being almost impossible to replace.&#8221; Trump added that the United States must deport criminals while also protecting farmers.</p>
<p>&#8220;In many cases the Criminals allowed into our Country by the VERY Stupid Biden Open Borders Policy are applying for those jobs. This is not good. We must protect our Farmers, but get the CRIMINALS OUT OF THE USA. Changes are coming!&#8221; Trump added.</p>
<p>Later on Thursday, Trump <a href="https://x.com/Breaking911/status/1933211435032600896">told</a> reporters at the White House that a new order on certain immigration enforcement will be issued &#8220;pretty soon.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;Farmers are being hurt badly. You know, they have very good workers who have worked for them for 20 years. They&#8217;re not citizens, but they&#8217;ve turned out to be great, and we&#8217;re going to have to do something about that,&#8221; he said. &#8220;We can&#8217;t take farmers and take all their people and send them back &#8230; and you know what&#8217;s going to happen, what is happening, they get rid of some of their people &#8230; and they end up hiring the criminals that have come in, the murderers from prisons and everything else.&#8221;</p>
<p>Trump&#8217;s shift comes as his administration has ramped up immigration enforcement operations in the Los Angeles area, including detaining suspected illegal immigrants on the street, at businesses, and on farms. ICE agents were spotted chasing down and detaining farm workers in Ventura County, California, earlier this week.</p>

<p>The White House said on Wednesday that since last week, 330 suspected illegal immigrants in the Los Angeles area have been detained, 113 of whom had past criminal convictions.</p>
<p>As immigration agents carried out the president&#8217;s deportation agenda in California, anti-ICE protests and riots broke out in Los Angeles last weekend. Joining the demonstrations were members of Unite Here Local 11, a local labor union that represents workers in the hotel, food, and casino industries. The organization, which is part of a local leftist coalition that has pushed anti-police talking points and given tips for how to respond to ICE agents, condemned the law enforcement response to the riots.</p>
<p>Trump&#8217;s mass deportation operation has been celebrated by most Republicans and conservatives, but has concerned some farmers and business owners who work in industries that have relied on hiring illegal immigrant workers. In January, the Wisconsin Farm Bureau <a href="https://www.weau.com/2025/01/24/farmers-advocacy-groups-speak-concerns-over-workforce-president-trump-continues-with-plans-immigration-crackdowns/">urged</a> Trump to pursue a secure border without going after illegal immigrants who have worked on the state&#8217;s many dairy farms &#8220;for years.&#8221;</p>
<p>In April, Trump addressed some of these concerns during a Cabinet meeting, <a href="https://x.com/Acyn/status/1910382262610526486">saying</a>, “We are also going to work with farmers. If they have strong recommendations for their farms for certain people, we’re going to let them stay in for a while. &#8230; We have to take care of our farmers, our hotels and, you know, the various places where they need the people.”</p>
<p>The president added that employers could lobby the government for their illegal immigrant workers to be allowed to remain in the country.</p>
<p>“So a farmer will come in with a letter concerning certain people, saying they’re great, they’re working hard,” Trump said. “We’re going to slow it down a little bit for them, and then we’re going to ultimately bring them back. They’ll go out. They’re going to come back as legal workers.”</p>
<p>Trump&#8217;s post on Thursday was met with backlash among some conservatives who argued that it would be a step back from what the president initially promised to do on the campaign trail. Daily Wire host Matt Walsh <a href="https://x.com/MattWalshBlog/status/1933168224507662529">wrote</a> on X, &#8220;Hell no. We can’t tolerate this.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;Employers who knowingly rely on illegal immigrant labor should be in prison,&#8221; he added. &#8220;Instead we’re going to back off of immigration enforcement for their sake?&#8221;</p>

Trump Signals ‘Changes Are Coming’ To Immigration Enforcement As Farmers, Businesses Complain

<p>President Donald Trump revoked California&#8217;s electric vehicle mandates, which have been adopted by nearly a dozen other states nationwide.</p>
<p>The president signed three congressional resolutions on Thursday, putting an end to California&#8217;s ban on the sale of new gas-powered cars by 2035. The California mandate was adopted by 11 other states, representing one-third of the auto market in the United States.</p>
<p>&#8220;We officially rescue the U.S. auto industry from destruction by terminating the California electric vehicle mandate once and for all,&#8221; Trump said at the White House. &#8220;They said it couldn&#8217;t be done, but boy, it had us tied up in knots for years. And they passed these crazy rules in California &#8230; the automakers didn&#8217;t know what to do.&#8221;</p>

<p>The move, made possible by Trump signing resolutions of disapproval under the Congressional Review Act, was celebrated by a group representing major automakers, including GM, Stellantis, Toyota, Hyundai, and Volkswagen, Reuters <a href="https://www.reuters.com/world/us/trump-sign-resolutions-nixing-californias-ev-rules-sources-2025-06-10/">reported</a>.</p>
<p>&#8220;The fact is these EV sales mandates were never achievable,&#8221; said Alliance for Automotive Innovation CEO John Bozzella. &#8220;In reality, meeting the mandates would require diverting finite capital from the EV transition to purchase compliance credits from Tesla.&#8221;</p>
<p>U.S. automaker GM added in a statement, “We appreciate the actions taken by President Trump to sign H.J. Res. 88 into law and help align emissions standards with today’s market realities. We have long advocated for one national standard that will allow us to stay competitive, continue to invest in U.S. innovation, and offer customer choice across the broadest lineup of gas-powered and electric vehicles.”</p>
<p>One of the resolutions signed by Trump repeals a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency waiver that was granted under the Biden administration and greenlit California&#8217;s mandate for at least 80% of new vehicles to be electric by 2035, according to Reuters. Trump will sign another resolution approved by the Republican-controlled Congress to rescind a 2023 EPA approval for California to require automakers to produce more zero-emission heavy-duty trucks. The third resolution eliminates the state&#8217;s low-nitrogen oxide regulation targeting heavy-duty trucks and off-road vehicles.</p>
<p>Republicans and auto companies have pushed for the EV regulations to be addressed. Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/senate-gears-up-stop-california-2035-gas-vehicle-sales-ban">said</a> last month that the EPA&#8217;s waivers allowed California “to dictate emissions standards for the whole country – effectively imposing a nationwide electric vehicle mandate.” In May, the GOP-led House voted to pass a Congressional Review Act resolution of disapproval for the EV mandate with the support of 35 Democrats. The Congressional Review Act allowed the Senate to bypass a filibuster to undo the EV regulations, as The Daily Wire previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/senate-votes-undo-biden-era-waiver-california-enabling-gas-car-ban">reported</a>.</p>
<p>In their vote, Senate Republicans were <a href="https://x.com/SenatorSlotkin/status/1925590423944257939">joined</a> by Michigan Democrat Sen. Elissa Slotkin, who said she has &#8220;a special responsibility to stand up for the more than one million Michiganders whose livelihoods depend on the U.S. auto industry.”</p>
<p>Trump signaled his support for ending California&#8217;s EV mandate while on the 2024 campaign trail.</p>
<p>“When I’m president, no state in America will be permitted to ban gas-powered cars or trucks, and I guarantee it,” Trump told his supporters at a rally in Saginaw, Michigan.</p>
<p>California Democratic Attorney General Rob Bonta <a href="https://x.com/AGRobBonta/status/1925624592481026347">said</a> his state would sue over Trump&#8217;s move &#8220;to protect California’s longstanding authority to maintain clean vehicle standards.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;President Trump may be playing partisan games with lives and good-paying jobs on the line—but California won’t back down,&#8221; Bonta added.</p>

Trump Slashes California’s ‘Crazy’ Far-Reaching EV Mandates

<p>The anti-ICE demonstrations and riots that broke out in Los Angeles County nearly a week ago calmed down on Wednesday night after L.A. Democratic Mayor Karen Bass issued a curfew and local law enforcement officers moved in to arrest any demonstrators who defied the order.</p>
<p>Bass issued a curfew on Tuesday and Wednesday night from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. for most of downtown L.A. to prevent any further violence or vandalism, The Los Angeles Times <a href="https://www.latimes.com/california/live/los-angeles-protests-immigration-raid-live-updates">reported</a>. An unlawful assembly was declared at 6:25 p.m. on Wednesday, and LAPD officers moved in to disperse the crowd, firing rubber bullets at 7:00 p.m. and causing many of the demonstrators to flee the scene. Thirty minutes later, the LAPD began arresting anyone who remained in the curfew zone downtown, which was around a few dozen protesters, according to the Times.</p>
<p>In a Thursday morning social media <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/114670085083632579">post</a>, President Donald Trump took credit for the calmer nights of protests, praising the National Guard and the Marines, whom he deployed to L.A., for putting &#8220;L.A. Police in a position to effectively do their job.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;Los Angeles was safe and sound for the last two nights. Our great National Guard, with a little help from the Marines, put the L.A. Police in a position to effectively do their job,&#8221; Trump wrote. &#8220;They all worked well together, but without the Military, Los Angeles would be a crime scene like we haven’t seen in years.&#8221;</p>
<p>Trump then ripped California Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom, saying that he &#8220;had totally lost control of the situation.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;He should be saying THANK YOU for saving his ass, instead of trying to justify his mistakes and incompetence!!!&#8221; the president added.</p>
<p>L.A. Police Chief Jim McDonnell told &#8220;<a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/news/la-police-chief-national-guard-focused-on-immigration-agenda-not-helping-with-protests/">CBS Mornings</a>&#8221; on Wednesday that the National Guard is not assisting local authorities with street protests or riot control.</p>
<p>&#8220;That&#8217;s not our understanding. They have a different mission,&#8221; McDonnell said. &#8220;They&#8217;re working in support of the federal agencies that are working with ICE on civil immigration enforcement and criminal immigration enforcement.&#8221; He added, &#8220;We don&#8217;t need the National Guard, and they are not here to help us right now.&#8221;</p>
<p>Mayor Bass <a href="https://www.pbs.org/newshour/show/la-mayor-says-military-national-guard-presence-provoke-the-population">told</a> PBS on Wednesday that her curfews &#8220;absolutely&#8221; helped prevent more rioting in the downtown area.</p>
<p>&#8220;Last night was the first night of the curfew,&#8221; Bass said about the Tuesday night order. &#8220;And I will tell you, over 100 people were arrested, but they were arrested for failure to disperse and violating curfew, no violence, no vandalism. And so that is different than the night before.&#8221;</p>
<p>Bass continued to criticize Trump over the deployment of the National Guard, calling it &#8220;completely unwarranted&#8221; and arguing that Trump&#8217;s action provoked the rioting.</p>
<p>&#8220;No one asked for that help. You were talking about minor protests, but every time you do something like this, you provoke the population even further,&#8221; she said. &#8220;They are angry because of the raids, they are angry because of the National Guard being here, and now they are really going to be angry if the troops come in.&#8221;</p>
<p>Trump has called out both Bass and Newsom for how they handled the rioting over the weekend, when federal, state, and local law enforcement officers were attacked by agitators and buildings were vandalized and damaged. Earlier this week, the president <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-says-newsom-bass-should-thank-him-for-deploying-national-guard-to-keep-our-citizens-safe?author=Zach+Jewell&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=12&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Trump+Says+Newsom%2C+Bass+Should+Thank+Him+For+Deploying+National+Guard+%E2%80%98To+Keep+Our+Citizens+SAFE%E2%80%99">accused</a> the mayor and governor of lying &#8220;to the People of California and America by saying that we weren’t needed, and that these are peaceful protests.&#8217;”</p>
<p>As the authorities quell the violence in L.A., the Trump administration continues to <a href="https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2025-06-11/los-angeles-immigration-protest-curfew">conduct</a> immigration raids throughout Southern California. The White House said on Wednesday that since last week, 330 suspected illegal immigrants in the Los Angeles area have been detained, 113 of whom had past criminal convictions. Immigration agents have targeted businesses, including at least five <a href="https://www.latimes.com/00000197-608b-d79b-adff-ecafffe80000-123">car washes</a> in Los Angeles and Orange Counties, arresting dozens of suspected illegal immigrants, according to the Times.</p>
